Students at Koonung Secondary College will soon have an updated sports ground thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Eastern Metropolitan Shaun Leane today announced the upgrade as part of the Labor Government’s commitment to schools.
Koonung Secondary College will receive $100,000 for the upgrade, which will involves resurfacing the existing hockey field.
By making sure students have access to the best sporting facilities we can increase the proportion of kids staying active.
By 2025, the Labor Government wants a 20 per cent increase in the proportion of kids doing physical activity five times a week.
Koonung Secondary College is one of thousands of schools with upgrades now underway across Victoria thanks to the Government’s $3.8 billion investment in school infrastructure as part of the Education State.
This unprecedented investment has delivered 70 new school projects and more than 1,300 school upgrades, creating more than 5,000 construction jobs.
