Doncaster Gardens Primary School, in Doncaster East will get a new multi-storey relocatable classroom to meet growing student numbers, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
Shaun Leane MP today announced that Doncaster Gardens primary School will receive 4 new classrooms, to accommodate 100 students.
The Labor Government is investing $75 million on new relocatable classrooms to help address enrolment pressures created by Victoria’s booming population.
Nine modern double-storey relocatable buildings will be installed by the start of the 2018 school year including Doncaster Gardens Primary School.
The double-storey units feature:
- Double-glazed windows and improved insulation to reduce heat loss
- Special wall and ceiling linings to reduce internal noise reverberation
- Energy efficient design including external window shades
This year’s allocation of relocatable classrooms adds to the $63.6 million worth of relocatable buildings provided to 13 schools in last year’s Budget.
The Government has invested an unprecedented $2.5 billion in school infrastructure, over the past three Budgets, in part to cater for the estimated 90,000 students who are expected to enter the school system over the next five years.
The relocatables, in single, two and three storey modules, are valued at $275,000, $950,000 and $1,360,000 respectively.
