The Andrews Labor Government will provide $19,000 to culturally diverse community organisation in Knox to support the restoration of a Chinese Community Centre in Wantirna.
Member for Eastern Metropolitan Region, Shaun leane today announced a $19,000 grant to Chinese Association of Victoria Incorporated for the Installation of a timber floor in the community hall in Knox.
This funding will come through the Labor Government’s Community Infrastructure and Cultural Precincts (CICP) program.
CICP promotes greater use of community facilities by Victoria’s culturally diverse communities, increasing their participation in activities, improving access to services and enabling Victoria’s cultural precincts to remain attractive for cultural and tourism activities.
The Labor Government is promoting an inclusive society where every Victorian can preserve and share their culture and traditions in spaces of their own heritage.
All the funded projects will increase diverse communities’ access to good, functional facilities that enable them to better utilise services, participate in activities and share their cultures with the wider Victorian community.
