The Andrews Labor Government today welcomed news that leading payments platform Assembly, formerly known as PromisePay, will bolster its global headquarters in Melbourne creating 60 new full-time jobs over the next three years.

The Government helped support the company, which boasts the world’s most flexible payments platform, to grow their current Victorian workforce instead of expanding its office in Manila, Philippines.

Founded in 2013 in Collingwood, the company now has offices in St Louis, Sydney and Manila as well as its global headquarters in Melbourne. Its high-end customers include Gumtree, Carsales, Airtasker and Flippa.

Assembly provides an end to end payment solution that allows businesses to accept, manage and disburse payments however they choose, designed for businesses that are frustrated by the complexity and limitations of existing payment systems.

The announcement comes as another boost to Victoria’s ever growing technology sector which has also seen moves by Hired, Square and Slack to set up regional HQs in recent times – joining our growing list of successful home-grown startups including Kogan, Carsales and Realestate.com.

Victoria’s tech industry now generates more than $34 billion in annual revenue and employs more than 91,300 people, with numbers primed to grow this year.
