Customers using the new Heatherdale Station may notice the addition of flowers on the concourse, with the installation of colourful glass panels displaying native flora of the area.

Four glass panels have been installed along the new forecourt, and depict oversized images of local flowers, including the Chocolate Lily, Spotted Sun Orchid, Native Flax and Waxlip Orchid.

These colourful panels are similar to the ones installed at the old Heatherdale Station to celebrate its 50^th anniversary in 2008.

The new Heatherdale Station was rebuilt as part of the level crossing removal project at Heatherdale Road.

The boom gates were removed last month, with the new station opening on Monday 6 February, making it the tenth level crossing removed and the eighth station rebuilt as part of the level crossing removal project.

The project team has worked closely with the Heatherdale Community Action Group throughout the design and construction process. These images of native flora were chosen as a focal point for the new station, now on the eastern side of Heatherdale Road.

Landscaping, station car parks and other station finishing works will continue at Heatherdale until mid-year.
